Lightwalker

Geneva, Switzerland. October 2004. Women's International Networking holds its 7th Global Leadership Forum: 500 attendees representing 58 nationalities converge at the Hotel Crowne Plaza.

I had the honor of being one of WIN 2004's keynote speakers, and the even greater honor of being asked by the organizers to compose and recite a celebratory poem for the closing gala, as tribute to the women attending the conference.

I ducked into my hotel room that afternoon and about an hour later "Lightwalker" was born. It celebrates the female spirit, its strength and resilience in the face of everpresent obstacles and challenges.

That evening, I read the poem to a hushed room of several hundred people who burst into spontaneous applause. These are the moments we writers live for.
